2 Tools That Can Be Used To Help Clean Your Dental Bridge

by Stacy Nelson

Having a dental bridge can be a wonderful thing for multiple reasons. It can allow you to have a full mouth of teeth, which can help you to feel more comfortable when you smile. It can also make it easier for you to chew food because you have all of the teeth that you need to do so. However, when you get a dental bridge, you are going to need to make sure that you take good care of it and keep it clean. Doing this is going to help ensure that it stays looking great and that your teeth and gums surrounding it are able to stay healthy. Thankfully, there are certain tools that are created for your teeth that make cleaning your dental bridge easier. This article is going to discuss 2 tools that you can use to help clean your dental bridge.

Water Flosser

A dental bridge is generally going to incorporate 2 or 3 teeth within the bridge structure. Because of this, you are going to have a large space that needs to be flossed. This space is also going to be a bit harder to floss than other areas of your teeth because it is one solid space above 2 or 3 teeth, rather than each individual tooth. A great tool to use to help you floss this area more quickly and efficiently is a water flosser. A water flosser is going to be a tool that shoots out water at a high enough pressure to shoot through your gums and remove any build up that may be there. The water is powerful enough to be effective, without causing any damage to your teeth or gums, which is essential.

Proxy Brush

Another tool that you can use to clean your dental bridge is a proxy brush. This brush gets its name because it is meant to clean the necks of your teeth. The term inter-proximal means in-between the necks of your teeth, so the term "proxy" makes sense. A proxy brush is basically a miniature toothbrush that has a bristled head that is perfect for getting into tight spaces, such as between teeth and above teeth. This makes it perfect for getting any food, or other things that may be stuck above your bridge. It is also easy to carry around, so you can bring it with you and use it to clean your teeth throughout the day.
