Running around after kids, working full time and a myriad of other activities can make it difficult to fit dental visits in to your schedule. Unfortunately, if you're neglecting your teeth, you could be setting yourself up for unwanted dental problems that can take even more time out of your schedule. Tooth pain can leave you sidelined from activities that you want to participate in. Here are some simple remedies to dull the pain until you can get to the dentist.

Gargle With Tea Tree Oil

When it comes to toothache pain, reach for the essential oils. Tea tree oil provides quick relief for toothaches, especially those caused by tooth decay or gum disease. Place 10 drops of tea tree oil in a glass of warm water and gargle at least three times a day. You can also place 2 drops of tea tree oil and 4 drops of olive oil on a cotton ball, and apply it directly to the affected tooth. Leave the cotton ball in place for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Suck On a Lime

Limes are rich in vitamin C, which is great for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Lime juice is also a great way to alleviate toothache pain. If you've got a toothache, simply cut a lime in half and suck on the juice.  

Chew On Wheat Grass

Many toothaches are caused by bacteria that builds up in the mouth. If you've got tooth decay or bacteria that's causing you some pain, wheat grass can kill the bacteria and help relieve the pain. Wheat grass can be placed in a blender and used as a gargle, or it can be chewed for quick pain relief.

Soak Your Gums in Clove Oil

Cloves are natural pain relievers and are great at knocking out toothache pain. Crush a clove until it's a fine powder. Sprinkle a small amount of the powder directly onto your gums and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Rinse your mouth with warm water. Repeat the process several times a day.

Don't let toothache pain keep you from enjoying life. If you can't get to the dentist right away, you can use these simple home remedies to get rid of the pain. Be sure to see your dentist as soon as possible. They'll be able to take care of the dental problems that are causing you pain. To keep dental pain away, be sure to see your dentist twice a year.
